Our Latest Steps to Make Content More Accessible

Great stories are for everyone - and at Netflix, that's something we build toward every day.

Nearly a third of our members worldwide use accessibility tools and features to find and enjoy the stories they love. On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, heres a look at how were making that experience better and where we're headed next.

As a global service with members in more than 190 countries, we know language and format are instrumental in how people connect with stories. A decade ago, non-English language series and films represented less than a tenth of total viewing on Netflix. Today, it's more than a third. In 2025, 70% of viewing on Netflix came from members watching a title from a country other than their own.

To support that, Netflix shows and movies are available with subtitles, Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SDH/CC), audio descriptions (AD), and dubbing in over 30 languages. Titles like Squid Game and Adolescence are among the most watched with subtitles, while Wednesday and When Life Gives You Tangerines rank among the most watched for members using dubbing or audio descriptions. Weve been working to make it easier to find titles supported with subtitles, dubbing, and audio descriptions.

This year, we rolled out Search by Language,' a new search update that lets members find TV shows and movies by language and accessibility features directly from the search bar, on any device. Whether you're watching a favorite series with subtitles, relying on dubbing to follow along, or using audio descriptions to experience every moment, Search by Language' gives you more control over how you find titles that match how you like to watch.

We've made significant progress in our Audio Description coverage. In 2025, we added more than 13,000 hours of Audio Description across 34 languages, up over 30% year-over-year. Hear from some of our members about what this feature has meant to them:

And there's more ahead. We look forward to supporting more languages, including bringing ASL to Netflix in the near future.

Every Global Accessibility Awareness Month, Netflix curates its Amplifying Accessibility Awareness collection - a dedicated space to discover stories that authentically spotlight the perspectives of people living with disabilities.
