NAB Show continued in Las Vegas with a third day of exciting announcements, news and demos.

At Tuesday evening's Rohde & Schwarz press conference it was revealed that after 30 years with the company, J rgen Nies is retiring as EVP and head of the broadcast and media division. He will remain with the company as a consultant. Nies is succeeded by Cornelius Heinemann, VP transmitter and amplifying systems, who will take up his new role on 1st July.

Heinemann told TVBEurope: I am really thankful and happy about this opportunity to take over the broadcast and media division at an all-time high. We are in good shape for the future.

J rgen Nies DTC Broadcast announced a North American partnership with US-based Wave Central, a major provider of wireless broadcast camera and transmission technologies. Wave Central will have full access to the DTC product portfolio, providing the North American market with regional sales and support.

Wave Central general manager Tom Doyle said: The benefits of being able to quickly sell, service and support these powerful, well-proven technologies across North America will be huge for fans of Wave Central and DTC's professional wireless products.

Blackmagic Design also launched a range of 8K products, including the HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR which supports space saving H.265 files, optional internal cache, 3D LUTs and native 8K and HDR support; and the ATEM Constellation 8K, a UHD live production switcher with four M/Es, 40 12G-SDI inputs, 24 12G-SDI aux outputs, four DVEs, 16 keyers, four media players and four multi viewers.

Social engagement platform specialists Never.no unveiled Real-Time Social Graphics, providing advanced visualisation for live broadcast, streaming, digital signage and events. The graphics solution provides an extra layer of flexibility to traditional TV broadcasters, as well as enabling those who use streaming services such as Facebook Live, Twitch or YouTube to benefit from the robustness of the STORY platform, integrating live engagement from their audience into their broadcasts.
