12 Years a Slave wins best picture at Oscars --

Director Steve McQueen s movie, 12 Years a Slave won the Oscar for best picture at the 86th Academy Awards on Sunday 2 March in Hollywood while Alfonso Cuar n won best director for Gravity, which scooped up six more awards, including a best actor win for Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto taking the Oscar for best supporting actor.

The glamorous and highly anticipated event was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and will be broadcast on 3 March at 19h30 on pay-channel M-Net.
