SVG Looks to the Future With New Event - SVG Next: AI, XR and Beyond on Nov. 13 in L.A. Inaugural program will blend real-world case studies with forward-thinking panels and presentations. By SVG Staff

The Sports Video Group has announced a new, day-long conference dedicated to next-gen sports production tools and technologies. Taking place at the Luxe Hotel Sunset in Los Angeles on November 13, SVG NEXT will delve into sports and entertainment applications of AI, XR, virtual production, real-time fan engagement and other cutting-edge innovations.
Under the direction of Conference Chair Gregg Katano, the inaugural program will blend real-world case studies with forward-thinking panels and presentations.
Advancements in sports technology are leveling up the content creation process and fan experience like never before, says Katano. From virtual production and AI tools, to immersive fan-focused location-based entertainment, to fans controlling and personalizing their experience at the venues and in their homes, the sports industry has been the ideal playing field to drive emerging technology adoption and public excitement across all forms of entertainment. We will look back at SVG NEXT in years to come as where many of these new technologies were first introduced, adopted, and shared with fans around the globe.
Katano is a respected entertainment and tech industry leader who not only brings his extensive experience in entertainment and his expansive network of emerging technology thought leaders, but also his exceptional ability to continuously look ahead to what technologies will impact our ever-evolving sports industry and entertainment industry as a whole. In addition to curating conference programs that focus on the future of sports and entertainment, he is also serving as Executive Committee Member and Chair of Events for the TV Academy Emerging Media Peer Group, Advisory Board Member of SXSW Pitch', and Co-Vice Chair of the Producers Guild of America-New Media.
In the leadup to the inaugural event, SVG has launched a a new future-looking content series: SVG NEXT Conversations. Join us for an insightful journey into the future of the media and entertainment industry and how these bleeding-edge technologies are expected to impact the sports-production community in the coming years. This series is designed to delve deep into the transformative potential of cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Reality (XR), and other next-generation innovations:

Episode 2: How XR and Other Emerging Technologies Are Transforming the Landscape of M&E'
Episode 3: How Emerging Tech & Realtime Fan Engagement Elevate the Sports Experience and Increase Revenue
SVG NEXT is part of a special two-day conclave for SVG's members and sponsors in LA this fall, which will also include its annual SVG Esports Production Summit at the Luxe Hotel on Sunset on November 12.
