Delta Air Lines, Citi, Bonhams and Vanity Fair will return as sponsors for the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival, which is set to take place April 10-13 in Hollywood. All four companies have supported the festival in previous years, with Delta and Vanity Fair participating since the very first festival in 2010. This years gathering will mark the fifth anniversary of the TCM Classic Film Festival, with the star-studded event set to coincide with TCMs 20th anniversary as a leading authority in classic film.
The TCM Classic Film Festival wouldnt be possible without our sponsors, who each year help us create four days and nights of unforgettable Hollywood magic, said Dennis Adamovich, senior vice president of digital, affiliate, lifestyle and enterprise commerce for TCM, TNT and TBS. We want to thank our partners at Delta Air Lines, Citi, Bonhams and Vanity Fair for being a part of this years festival as we celebrate TCMs 20th anniversary. We are especially grateful to our friends at Delta and Vanity Fair, who have supported the festival from the very beginning.
The following is the roster of partners set to sponsor the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival:
Delta - Founding Partner
In recognition of Delta Air Lines status as an original festival partner and their increasing annual support each year of the event, TCM has named Delta Air Lines exclusive Founding Partner of the TCM Classic Film Festival. The official airline partner of the TCM Classic Film Festival, Delta Air Lines provides air travel for many of the festivals VIP guests.
Citi - Lead Partner
Citi, which returns for its second year as a Lead Partner, is the official card of the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival. In addition to offering an exclusive festival pass pre-sale to Citi cardmembers, attendees who use their Citi card to purchase festival passes will receive an exclusive gift when they arrive at the festival. Citi will also be the presenting sponsor of several films during the festival.
Bonhams - Official Program Partner
Returning for its third year as a festival partner, fine art auction house Bonhams will provide items to be exhibited in Club TCM, the central gathering point for festival attendees. Bonhams, which worked with TCM on a major sale of movie memorabilia in November, will also host a valuation session for festival attendees in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. In addition, Bonhams will sponsor several films presented during the TCM Classic Film Festival.
Vanity Fair - Official Partner
Vanity Fair returns for its fifth consecutive year as an official partner for the TCM Classic Film Festival. As it has done since TCMs very first festival in 2010, the magazine will support the festivals opening-night gala, including the red carpet arrivals and screening at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX and the opening-night after-party. During the festival, Vanity Fair will also serve as the presenting sponsor of several films.
About the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival
For the fifth consecutive year, thousands of movie lovers from around the globe will descend upon Hollywood for the TCM Classic Film Festival. The 2014 festival is set to take place Thursday, April 10 - Sunday, April 13, coinciding with TCMs 20th anniversary as a leading authority in classic film. Over four packed days and nights, attendees will be treated to an extensive lineup of great movies, appearances by legendary stars and filmmakers, fascinating presentations and panel discussions, special events and more.
The theme for the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival will be Family in the Movies: The Ties that Bind. Throughout the four-day lineup, the festival will showcase on-screen clans of all types - big and small, happy and imperfect, musical and dramatic. In addition, the festival will spotlight the first families of Hollywood and the filmmaking dynasties that have entertained generations. And it will explore the kinship that connects close-knit groups of professionals behind the camera, such as the stock companies of classic Hollywood.
Among the many special events slated for the 2014 TCM Classic Film Festival, TCM will honor legendary actor, filmmaker and humanitarian Jerry Lewis with a multi-tiered celebration of his remarkable career. Lewis will have his hand and footprints enshrined in concrete in front of the world-famous TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX. In addition, Lewis will be on-hand for a screening of one of his most memorable films: The Nutty Professor (1963).
This years TCM Classic Film Festival will also pay tribute to Quincy Jones, who will appear at multiple events during the festival, including a 50th anniversary screening of Sidney Lumets powerful drama The Pawnbroker (1964), which marked Jones debut as a film composer.
Other festival events include a screening of the recently restored Gone with the Wind (1939) and a presentation of The Wizard of Oz (1939) in its stunning new IMAX 3D format. Both films are celebrating their 75th anniversaries in 2014. The festival will also include three world premiere restorations: Billy Wilders Double Indemnity (1944), which will be celebrating its 70th anniversary; Orson Welles Touch of Evil (1958); and William Wylers Best Picture Oscar winner The Best Years of Our Lives (1946). In addition, the festival will feature a screening of the Harold Lloyd comedy classic Why Worry? (1923), with legendary silent-film composer Carl Davis conducting the live world premiere performance of his new original score.
