Steel Beams, Signing Ceremony, Punctuate Progress on WRAL-TV Construction

Construction Update (08.14.18) The steel structure is now going up on the foundation and footings of the expanded footprint for the WRAL-TV Studios building.

The footprint of the WRAL-TV Studios building is beginning to look a lot different as construction progresses on renovations that began in late winter. Earlier in August another milestone in the project took place as team leaders signed the final steel beam that will soon be placed in the structure.

The new building represents many things, said Corp President & COO Jimmy Goodmon. Its our companys flag in the ground that were a company built for the future. It represents our dedication to serving this community. A place where innovation, creativity and teamwork thrive. Youll see that weve designed creative places that are open to everyone and part of its intention is to break down the walls between us. It is my hope that it will be a gathering place for all who work on Western Boulevard.

A crane is being used to put the steel skeleton in place, as plumbing is roughed in on the new part of the building. The front of the new lobby and CBC New Media offices will soon have glass walls.

The lobby for CBCs Western Blvd headquarters continues to be relocated to the Corporate building. Follow the signs on campus.
