Production Park has announced it provided the base for forthcoming Netflix series, Adolescence (working title).

The Wakefield facility was used as the main production base for a new crime drama, produced by WARP Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B for Netflix. Cast and crew were based at Production Park for six months over the summer, with the site's newest stage, Studio 005, home to an extensive set which included two internal builds and an outside extension.

The show's cast includes Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham (image credit Netflix) Directed by Philip Barantini, the four-part series was filmed in one-shot style, in an unbroken continuous shot, which is becoming Barantini's signature style following his work on Boiling Point.

All of the action was shot either on or close to Production Park, with the studio team helping find suitable off-site locations within easy driving distance.

Joint CEO of Sheffield's WARP Films, Mark Herbert, commented, The series posed a major challenge for us with the one-shot element so we needed a studio space that could match our technical needs but also provide a home for the crew and actors during the whole process. We loved working at Production Park and it was a great space to build our sets, and the day to day working atmosphere was fantastic, I will certainly film there again. And it's mad it's in an old mining community not too far from where I grew up and just up the road from WARP Films HQ in Sheffield.

Hosting such a large-scale, prestigious drama at Production Park shows how versatile we can be in supporting a wide range of clients, and we are very much open to any similar scale productions in the future.

The team partnered with outreach programme ScreenSkills on the project, enabling local people to attend a series of industry-led events to find out about working in the industry.
