RT at Electric Picnic 2016 in association with Electric Ireland

27 August 2016: RT , in association with Electric Ireland, today announced details of its coverage of Ireland's biggest music festival, Electric Picnic.

Throughout the weekend, from Friday 2nd Sunday 4th September, RT will bring audiences the best moments from Electric Picnic 2016 across television, radio, online and on mobile devices, presenting its broadest and most comprehensive Picnic' coverage to date and ensuring that RT will be the go-to destination for all the latest from Electric Picnic 2016.

Highlights - RT at Electric Picnic in association with Electric Ireland

RT 2

RT 2 will be dedicated to Electric Picnic on Saturday night at 8pm 1 hour earlier than last year - which means even more great Electric Picnic highlights through the night. Live coverage on RT 2 will once again be fronted by Eoghan McDermott and Jenny Greene, with performances from Main Stage headliners and the Other Voices stage and Electric Ireland Marquee as well as highlights from both Friday and earlier on Saturday. Al Porter and Blathnaid Treacy will also be on reporting duties, bringing the latest news, exclusive artist interviews and festival happenings to viewers.

RT 2FM

RT 2FM will be the go-to radio station for all the latest music, news and gossip from Electric Picnic throughout the weekend. If you can't make it to the festival, be there with RT 2FM:

Friday: Cormac Battle will host a Picnic Festival Drive special featuring music from Picnic acts past and present as well as live reports and interviews;

Saturday: Join us for lots more interviews and reports from Dan Hegarty and Carl Mullan across the day and from 8pm midnight, Cormac Battle is back on air with great live music and artist interviews as part of a simulcast of RTE2 s Electric Picnic live programme;

Sunday: Join us live from 1pm midnight as Tracey Clifford, Ruth Scott*, Stephen Byrne and Bl thnaid Treacy and Cormac Battle bring a non-stop supply of music, chat, live reports and interviews from the final day of the festival.

Ruth Scott will give the first play' of tracks recorded at our special 90 s classics concert by DJ Jenny Greene and the RT Concert Orchestra on Friday night in the Rankins Wood tent.
