A mole from SABC 3's telenovela The Estate has revealed that the cast and crew haven't been their paid salaries for December.

It is alleged that Clive Morris' Production wasn't able to pay their staff due to contractual issues with the service provider, SABC.

Sources have informed me, cast & crew of SABC 3 show have not been paid since November.

They were promised 31 December, then 4th Jan.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela - revealed that the SABC hasn't paid the show's production company, (CMP) Clive Morris Production.

Mphela reported that salary payments have now been moved to next week Monday (10 January).

CMP sent a letter to the crew last week which read:

Non-pay is due to a delayed payment from the SABC due to the change in contract.

This is the very last thing we wanted and up to this point have been working on alternative funding solutions to not default on our obligations to you.

7DE LAAN' STAFFERS UNPAID A mole from SABC 2's soapie - 7de Laan also revealed that the actors from the Afrikaans soapie were concerned about the renewal of their soapie's contract with the SABC, as the studios were vacant.

The news came as a shock to the Laanies after SABC2 announced the iconic Afrikaans soapie's return to its five days a week schedule back in September.

The cast was on a break since 6 August 2021 when they finished shooting season 22.

Some staffers believed that the SABC was cancelling the soapie at the time as there seemed to be no indication when the contract will be renewed.

The cast and crew have not been paid since August and are now being heavily impacted financially, the SMS reads.

SABC brought 7de Laan back for five days so the episodes that the production was shooting will last them up to the end of December 2021.

MUVHANGO' CAST AND CREW IN LIMBO Sowetan also reported that Muvhango staffers had been home for two months back in October.

They were home without salaries as the SABC (South African Broadcasting Commission) hadn't renewed the show's contract.

The publication added that the contract between the soapie and the SABC ended mid-August.

Four independent sources from the channel stated that Muvhango submitted all its required documents to the broadcaster in May.
