Telekom partners with Fon to launch free Wi-Fi service, available at nearly 20 million hotspots

Safe Internet access for customers offered over three networks from now: Fixed line + Mobile + Wi-Fi

Internet connectivity available in all places, all situations and on all devices

Magyar Telekom, along with Fon, its international market leader partner, introduces a new, free of charge service offering broadband internet access called Telekom Wi-Fi Fon. Telekoms new nationwide Wi-Fi network will provide users the opportunity to use the internet safely outside their homes in reliable quality, without any data limitation or excess charge, in nearly 2000 localities in Hungary and in some 20 countries worldwide over Fon's Wi-Fi network.

In exclusive cooperation with its partner Fon, Magyar Telekom is establishing Hungarys largest Wi-Fi network with the help of digital home gateway devices located in the homes of its fixed line broadband Internet subscribers. In addition, Telekom is going to integrate the hundreds of thousand hotspots established this way, into the world's largest Wi-Fi network. Telekom Wi-Fi Fon hotspots, as opposed to public hotspots, provide quality, reliable and safe broadband Wi-Fi connection for users, also away from their homes.

Andr s Gyenes, Magyar Telekoms Chief Commercial Officer residential services said: With its new Wi-Fi Fon service Telekom provides an all-round Internet experience. Thanks to Telekoms fixed line, mobile and Wi-Fi network our customers from now on will be able to access the Internet everywhere, in all situations-at home, on the move and away from home. Now we offer our customers the experience of freedom without any limitations, beyond a simply and comfortably accessible and quality Internet connection.

Using the service is quite simple: To all Telekom fixed line Internet subscribers with a digital home gateway enabled for Wi-Fi Fon service an user name and a password will be delivered in a direct mail. After the launch of the Telekom Fon Basic Service, subscribers of already existing mobile broadband Next XL and newly purchased Next S, M, as well as Music S, M and XS tariff packages will also be granted the national Wi-Fi network access automatically and free of charge as well. In addition, with the Telekom Fon Premium Service, subscribers of Travel & Surf S, M and L roaming data tariff packages, as well as EU 100 and EU Plusz roaming options will be able to connect free of charge to nearly 20 million Fon hotspots worldwide in 20 countries during the validity period of packages, over the global Wi-Fi network of Fon and its partners.

Telekoms Wi-Fi Fon service is available with Wi-Fi enabled smartphones, tablets and computers with the help of Telekom Wi-Fi Fon application that can be downloaded free of charge. With one user name up to three devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network, so at a time even a whole family can enjoy the Wi-Fi service away from their home. The application also enables the search of Wi-Fi hotspot locations on the map even wihout Internet connection. And detailed information on the location of national and international hotspots available for users can be obtained online by using the Fon application downloadable also free of charge and at the website https://corp.fon.com/en/maps as well.
