NEW YORK - June 11, 2019 - Martha Ruiz-Cornejo has been named Senior Vice President, Human Resources, CBS Television Stations, it was announced today by Laurie Rosenfield, Chief People Officer, CBS Corporation, and Peter Dunn, President, CBS Television Stations. Ruiz is based in New York and reports to Rosenfield and Dunn. Ruiz is succeeding Robin Bona, who retired last month as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for the Company's Television Stations division, following 53 years with CBS.
In her new role, Ruiz-Cornejo has oversight of all human resources strategy for the CBS Television Stations Group as well as programs and processes, cultural and leadership development, employee education and development, and compensation and benefits for the division.
Over the last eight years, she has held various human resources positions at Univision, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the company's television and radio stations and local digital properties. Before that, Ruiz-Cornejo served in human resources management roles with companies including AIG, PepsiCo, Baker Hughes and Procter & Gamble.
We are delighted Martha has joined us in this crucial role working with our television stations across the country, said Rosenfield. Her expertise in leading transformation, developing leaders and delivering growth opportunities to media businesses at the national and local level makes her the ideal fit for this position. I also expect her to be one of the key drivers in moving our business forward as we continue to focus on strengthening our culture and ensuring that all employees are provided with a safe, fair, inclusive and positive work environment.
The addition of Martha as the dedicated human resources expert for our team comes at the perfect time, said Dunn. Human resources plays a critical role in our success, and Martha possesses the skills to help us continue to grow our business, and most importantly, deliver on our promise to make certain all employees at our television stations experience an open, transparent, accountable and inclusive culture.
Ruiz-Cornejo has a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from National Autonomous University of Mexico. She also holds a master's degree in human resource management and industrial relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Martha grew up in Mexico City and moved to Houston over 15 years ago, before relocating to New York with her husband, Lenny, and their two sons, Emilio and Luca.
