RTI Pumps Up the Volume at CEDIA EXPO 00

Company to Unveil New Audio Distribution and Control Solutions, Including New Two-Way Drivers for Integration With iTunes and SqueezeboxT ATLANTA, CEDIA EXPO 2010 - Sept. 23, 2010 - Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) will be rocking out at CEDIA EXPO 2010 with sophisticated audio distribution solutions that provide consumers with intuitive control over their music libraries, Internet radio, and streaming audio on their RTI controllers, mobile devices, and computers. The company is set to unveil two exciting new drivers for its XP-8 processor that allow users to control and receive feedback from iTunes , Squeezebox players, and other PC music, right on their two-way-enabled in-wall or handheld controllers. For control via an iPhone , iPod touch , or iPad , RTI will be demonstrating its RTiPanel app, and attendees can experience convenient online control with the companys Virtual Panel Web interface. RTIs complete offering of multi-room audio solutions unveiled at CEDIA EXPO 2010 will also include the new RTiDock iPod accessory, as well as AD-4 and AD-8 distributed audio matrix switchers.

At CEDIA EXPO 2010, RTI will announce a new driver for iTunes integration with its two-way-enabled handheld and in-wall controllers. For two-way communication with Signal software, RTI has partnered with AlloySoft to develop the driver, which provides a slick interface that allows users to control iTunes, Windows Media Player , and Winamp and to receive feedback including playlists, album art, now playing info, and more. Dealers simply purchase Signal at AlloySofts website for $24.95 and install it on their customers Mac or PC. They then download the driver on RTIs dealer site. The interface is programmed using RTIs Integration Designer software for a completely customizable experience.

RTI has also developed a two-way control driver to interface with Squeezebox network music players. For dealers, utilizing Squeezebox is a simple way to give customers convenient access across their home network to their database of PC music, Internet radio, music services such as Pandora and Rhapsody , and much more. And now with the two-way driver, they can offer customers full control and feedback of Squeezebox, including cover art, on two-way-enabled RTI handheld or in-wall controllers. Both the Squeezebox and AlloySoft drivers will be available soon on the RTI dealer website.

Consumers today want to be able to stream their media through distributed audio systems and be able to conveniently control it in a variety of ways. To meet this need, we are very excited to partner with AlloySoft and Squeezebox in giving users a sleek interface to access iTunes, Internet radio, and audio streaming, right from their RTI controllers. And we are working hard to develop even more drivers for integration with best-in-class solutions through our Integration Partner program, said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI.

But consumer demand doesnt stop at remote controls. There is also a strong interest in having this same control experience on other devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, or a PC, continued Baker. Weve listened to the market, and at CEDIA we will also be demonstrating several solutions that give consumers complete access and control over their media from a variety of devices, in addition to providing them with the cost-effective solutions to distribute this media throughout their homes. No matter how they enjoy their music, weve got consumers under control.

At CEDIA, RTI will debut its RTiDock featuring rackmount or desktop options and a host of benefits not found on other iPod docks, such as the ability to sync with iTunes over the network through Virtual Sync technology. For simple, intuitive operation, the device offers a full on-screen GUI (Graphical User Interface) and video output for navigation through a video display device. A sliding tray provides easy access and discreet storage of the iPod for added convenience and a clean design.

For whole-house audio distribution, the company will be demonstrating its four-zone AD-4 (shipping in the fall) and new eight-zone AD-8 distributed audio matrix switchers. Acting as extensions to RTIs control systems, the AD-4 and AD-8 offer low-cost and very effective solutions for distributing music in a residential or commercial installation. The systems contain both a matrix switching pre-amp and a built-in Cool Power class D amplifier, and they achieve amazing flexibility with four or eight local audio source inputs that can be further enhanced with remote audio sources.

RTI is also bringing the power of its control solutions to the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with the new RTiPanel app, which will be available immediately following CEDIA. With the app installed on any of these popular Apple products, users will have complete control of their music from anywhere in the home and beyond. In addition, with RTIs Virtual Panel, any PC or mobile device becomes an interface for complete system control. Users simply connect to the RTI interface online and easily establish convenient access to their RTI systems.
