Grass Valley Introduces the Latest Software Version of K-Frame for Kayenne and Karrera Video Production Center Switchers
1080p 3G-ready without sacrificed functionality

Hillsboro, Ore., September 13, 2013 Grass Valley will demonstrate the latest version of its K-Frame modular video processing engine with increased user flexibility for both Kayenne and Karrera Video Production Center switchers, at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam. K-Frames upgrades include internal video clip storage and playback, greater macro flexibility, and an M/E multi-previewer function to meet the demands of todays live productions.
Since its release in June 2013, K-Frame has been installed in more than 75 production facilities worldwide. K-Frames support for the Kayenne and Karrera switchers are built on a modular approach, provide simple upgradability, enable more efficient operations, simplify workflows and offer easy configuration and setup. The adaptability and flexibility of the K-Frame system is suitable for both mobile and fixed facility production environments.
We continue to innovate K-Frame to offer broadcasters and media organizations a variety of configurations to choose from while delivering long-term cost savings and operational efficiency, said Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Grass Valley. K-Frame sets a new benchmark in live production. We continue to extend its feature set with more inputs and outputs, while delivering on full 3G 1080p50/60 HD support which means users dont have to sacrifice functionality when switching between formats.

ImageStore a cost effective option to record, playback, loop, and import clips
M/E Viewer offering multi-previewer functions without the complexity of additional hardware. Provides each M/E a preview output that shows various combinations of all the video feeds associated with that M/E
Video Disk Control Protocol (VDCP) control over Ethernet for simpler integration in a variety of environments
2D Digital Picture Manipulators (DPMs) for increased performance enabling the use of typical 2D effects while conserving precious 3D effects resources
Segmented Frame Rates Live Mode adds format flexibility for commonly used entertainment formats such as 23.98
Macro Surfaces increases user efficiency with the ability to simultaneously run macros on two control surfaces within the same suite.
NEP, the leading international provider of outside broadcast production services, currently deploys the Kayenne Video Production Center with K-Frame in its EN1 truck designed specifically for ESPNs Monday Night Football.
