11 June 2019 In a brand-new ad for Dave, UKTVs award-winning in-house creative shop has filmed famous faces from Daves critically-acclaimed UKTV Originals, lifting the lid on their shows and revealing what they love about comedy.
The promo was filmed by UKTV Creative over six months and features a host of famous faces talking about what its like making comedy to show viewers a behind-the-scene glimpse of programme making and reinforce the message that Dave is now home to more original British comedy than ever before.
The 60 second ad marks the first time Dave has used an ensemble of its own talent in an on-air creative campaign. It features Greg Davies and Alex Horne (Taskmaster), Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont (Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier), Romesh Ranganathan (Judge Romesh), Sara Pascoe (Comedians Giving Lectures), Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster (Hypothetical), and Samson Kayo, Theo Barklem-Biggs and Weruche Opia (Sliced).

The on-air ad is accompanied by an innovative social creative directed by Twitter Polls. Daves senior social editor, Aaron Gillies, said,
It was important for us to complement the channels on-air creative with an online campaign that would resonate with our fans and reflects Daves way of seeing the world, so weve asked Daves followers to create their own social ad. Its the perfect way of engaging with our fans in a fun and playful way.
Daves social team kick-started the online campaign last week with the following post:
Dave has posted a total of 16 twitter polls which have been cross promoted on Daves Facebook and Instagram feeds, and the results have been used to create the bespoke social ad which debuted on @davechannel today.
