Abekas Inc., an industry leader in digital video production servers and equipment, and axle Video LLC, pioneer in media management systems that are easy to use, install, and afford, today announced integration of axle Video media management software with the Abekas Mira and Tria video server family.
With this integration Abekas customers can now search and preview every asset on any Abekas Mira or Tria server on their network in a single, unified browser-based view. axle 2016 software has a new extension to handle the native Abekas media file format. With it, axle 2016 automatically discovers and catalogs all video, audio and still image media on Abekas servers, imports all metadata, and creates low-res MPEG H264 proxies which appear in the clean and simple axle user interface. axle media management is unobtrusive, as it leaves customer folder structures, storage file systems, and original media untouched.
In applications such as live studio productions, where Abekas servers handle the ingest and playback of graphics and video clips, asset counts can easily run into many thousands across the networked servers. This is a significant management challenge that axle Video addresses as an easily referenceable central library with a simple browser view of media inventory across all servers.
