WRAL's 99.9 The Fan switches things up, changes show to single host

Beginning Thursday, April 27, 2023, listeners will hear changes in afternoons from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on 99.9 The Fan.

The new program format will focus on fast-moving, engaging local sports with a single host. The host for the new programming will be announced later.

Wednesday, April 26, was the final live show of The OG with Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio.

Brian Grube, general manager of CBC Raleigh Radio, said, We recognize and appreciate the OG's hard work, talent and passion over the years as they played a large role in getting WCMC-FM to where it is now.

We've decided to move in a new direction in afternoons on 99.9 The Fan that focuses on the best way to deliver fast-moving, informative, engaging, local sports content that leverages the full scope of CBC's powerful radio, TV and digital platforms. After an interim period, we'll shift to a single host plus producer format to accomplish that goal. We're truly grateful for Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio's many contributions and wish them both the best moving forward.

Here is the full Monday through Friday broadcast schedule for 99.9 The Fan:

Midnight to 6 a.m.: SportsCenter AllNight

6 to 10 a.m.: Keyshawn, JWill and Max

10 a.m. to Noon: Greeny

Noon to 3 p.m.: The Adam Gold Show

3 to 6:30 p.m.: Local Sports

6:30 to 7 p.m.: Canty and Carlin

7 to 9 p.m.: Joe and Amber

9 p.m. to midnight: Freddie and Fitzsimmons
