Delicious new and exclusive series of World s Weirdest Restaurants and Kitchen Hero on Good Food

Britain's leading food TV channel in Pay, Good Food, has announced that it has acquired the exclusive second series UK rights to two hugely successful shows which aired on the channel last year, World's Weirdest Restaurants and Kitchen Hero.

The acquisition of World's Weirdest Restaurants from Beyond Distribution was ordered by Good Food's General Manager Clare Laycock and visits some of the most unusual, one-of-a-kind restaurants around the world. The 15 x 30' series is due to premiere in Q2 and features some of the most extraordinary eateries and curious cuisines including flambed chicken catapulted through the air, skewered mid-flight by a unicycle riding waiter, and sushi served up by dancing robots.

Popular Irish chef Donal Skehan returns to UK screens in the second series of Kitchen Hero. The acquisition for Good Food follows negotiations with In Production and the 14 x 30' series is about inspiring home cooking at an affordable price. Donal makes inexpensive ingredients work harder for the money spent on them, so they can be enjoyed as delicious dishes on a daily basis.

In addition, John Catucci also returns for second helping of You Gotta Eat Here. The 26 x 30' series was acquired in a deal brokered with Portfolio. The UK Premiere of Tareq Taylor's Nordic Cookery has also been acquired for Good Food in a deal negotiated with Lucky Day. The 8 x 30' will follow the popular Swedish chef as he introduces viewers to the tastes and traditions of Scandinavian cooking.

Good Food's General Manager, Clare Laycock says: These latest acquisitions demonstrate our passion for bringing a range of food-led entertainment and classic cooking shows to the channel. Good Food already features Britain's best known chefs, but we also like to support emerging talent with Donal Skehan's Kitchen Hero and Tareq Taylor's Nordic Cookery to introduce our viewers to a wide range of skills and recipes.

All deals were brokered by Nicki McDermott, UKTV's Acquisition Executive. Nicki adds: We're delighted to have secured such a range of new series for Good Food. Our aim is to enhance the content of the channel and broaden the number of viewers who look for new and inspiring cookery programming and through these deals, we believe we are doing this.

The recipes featured in all of the series will be available on goodfoodchannel.co.uk to complement the growing library of more than 16,000 dishes already available.
