SCTE and ANGA Announce 04 Bursary Winners

The SCTE(TM), the Society for Broadband Professionals, and ANGA, the Association of German Cable Operators, have granted bursaries to 20 individuals for this years ANGA COM conference and exhibition. The bursary winners were mainly chosen from international cable operators, including Virgin Media and IPKO. Each bursary winner received a package including pre-paid flights and hotel accommodation for three nights courtesy of the SCTE and entrance to the full conference offering courtesy of ANGA.

The SCTE and ANGA have a long history of cooperation. They have worked together for many years developing conference sessions at ANGA COM, and ANGA has a regular editorial slot in the SCTEs quarterly international magazine the "Broadband Journal."

"The bursary programme is a great example of our successful and long-term cooperation with the international SCTE, which is headquartered in the UK, said Thomas Braun, president of ANGA. "In addition to the bursary programme, we have developed a congress panel together for many years. This years panel will focus on Multiscreen: Streaming Services Enable Any Content @ Any Screen @ Home, a topic that is very relevant to the broadband industry."

The SCTE will be a visible participant at the ANGA COM event, as it has been in previous years. The Society will be on hand at stand G39 in upper hall 10.2, and its quarterly "Broadband Journal will be distributed throughout the exhibition and in all the delegate bags.

"We are delighted to be working with ANGA again, said Dr. Roger Blakeway, president of the SCTE. "We will be holding a party for all bursary winners on Wednesday, 21 May at 5 p.m. at our booth. The party is open to all SCTE members and supporters."

ANGA COM, a key international conference and exhibition for the broadband, cable, and satellite industries, takes place from 20-22 May in Cologne, Germany. Last year, it attracted 17,000 business visitors and 450 exhibitors, bringing together network operators, content providers and vendors from all around the world. Besides the traditional fields of broadband (i.e. next-generation networks) and content delivery, this years conference programme focuses on broadband, television and online. ANGA COM 2014 also features a new presentation platform for all exhibitors and visitors called the Speakers Corner.

SCTE members can apply for bursaries at the 2015 ANGA COM event by writing up to 250 words on why they would benefit from the bursary and emailing it to office@theSCTE.eu. All bursary winners must be members of the SCTE.
