Xavier Red n (Cellnex) takes the pulse to DTT in BIT Experience 2017 El product manager broadcast en Cellnex Telecom destaca en un workshop que en Europa, la TDT es la plataforma l der, manteni ndose estable el tiempo de visualizaci n. M s de 250 millones de espectadores visualizan contenidos de TDT en alguno de sus aproximadamente 2.000 canales .
Xavier Red n, product manager broadcast en Cellnex Telecom, ha participado hoy BIT Experience dirigiendo un workshop en el que se ha analizado la situaci n de la Televisi n Digital Terrestre en Espa a al tiempo que ha hecho un repaso al momento que vive la TDT en otros pa ses europeos exponiendo su oferta, los retos a los que se enfrentan y c mo los resuelven.
Red n ha iniciado su workshop destacando que en Europa la TDT es la plataforma l der, manteni ndose estable el tiempo de visualizaci n. M s de 250 millones de espectadores visualizan contenidos de TDT en alguno de sus aproximadamente 2.000 canales .
Una de las cuestiones clave para asegurar el futuro de la TDT es la reserva de parte del espectro radioel ctrico para la emisi n televisiva. Red n ha subrayado que la Comisi n Europea ha garantizado el uso de la banda sub 700 como m nimo hasta 2030, lo que permitir un desarrollo sostenible de los servicios de radiodifusi n en Europa. Sin embargo, ha se alado que aunque existen diferentes casu sticas, la mayor a de pa ses habr liberado la banda de 700 MHz antes de 2020 aunque algunos de los Estados miembro ya haya anunciado alargar este plazo hasta 2022. En Espa a a n est pendiente definir la hoja de ruta, que se publicar antes de final de junio de 2018.
Red n ha se alado que la televisi n terrestre contin a evolucionando incorporando mejoras y funcionalidades al servicio b sico de TDT tales como la televisi n h brida (TDT h brida) o la Ultra Alta Definici n.
Por otro lado, durante el workshop se ha analizado la casu stica de servicios TDT en diferentes pa ses deteni ndose en c mo los promocionan y qu servicios ofrecen. Entre otros ejemplo, se ha citado el caso de la brit nico Freeview UK, una soluci n de plataforma conjunta de radiodifusores de TDT que se han unido para ofrecer a los espectadores una soluci n interactiva para algunos televisores smart tv y que pr ximamente estar disponible bajo est ndar HbbTV.
Otro caso interesante es el de Freeview Australia, una plataforma HbbTV que ofrece servicio de gu a de programas conjunta para los espectadores de la televisi n terrestre en Australia. En Alemania, encontramos el caso de Freenet que ofrece canales SD gratuitos y HD por una subscripci n baja donde utilizan HbbTV para ofrecer contenidos y servicios habituales.
Xavier Red n ha anticipado una mirada al futuro asegurando que m s pronto que tarde disfrutaremos en TDT de UHD con High Dynamic Range (HDR), Wider Colour Gamut (WCG) y HFR (High Frame Rate) en sus versiones normal o retrocompatibles con los televisores actuales de 4K .
En lo que respecta al desarrollo del 5G, en este workshop ha quedado patente que el est ndar est defini ndose actualmente incluyendo requerimientos de los radiodifusores de televisi n en abierto para que la pr xima generaci n de servicios m viles tambi n tenga en cuenta las necesidades de los broadcasters de la televisi n gratuita.
Por ltimo, Red n ha comentando algunos aspectos en relaci n a la televisi n h brida HbbTv destacando que en Espa a, seg n GFK, el 41% de los televisores vendidos este a o son compatibles con el est ndar h brido, lo que supone un incremento del 22% con respecto al mismo periodo del a o pasado.
