Bonga Dlamini is back to reprise his role as Mkhonto on SABC 1's Uzalo.

When Mkhonto's character was written out of the soapie in 2016, Dlamini expressed his disappointment and said that he was still planning on doing more things with the character.

MKHONTO BACK TO CAUSE DRAMA Mkhonto has never been one to shy out of trouble. When Mkhonto was introduced to the viewers, he was a gangster that had gone to jail and spent 15 years for something his brother, Muzi Xulu (played by Mpumelelo Bhulose), had done.

He came back very angry and out for vengeance. According to Daily Sun, this time around, he comes back as an unpleased father (he is Nosipho's uncle) about Nosipho's (played by Nompilo Maphumulo) pregnancy and causes drama at every turn.

An insider told Daily Sun that producers needed Mkhonto to come back to spice things up in Nosipho's pregnancy storyline.

He will start appearing later in October. He won't be happy that Nosipho is pregnant and he'll cause drama about it. He won't stay long on the show but his presence will be felt

BONGA QUIT ACTING After Bonga was let go on Uzalo in 2016, rumours swirled around that he was fired because he was allegedly having an affair with his co-star Thandeka Dawn King who played Lindiwe MaNgcobo Xulu.

In an interview with East Coast Radio, Bonga shut down the rumours and said that they were good friends and nothing more. He however did state in an interview with Drum, that he received a call from Uzalo where they told him they no longer required his services.

Bonga was also rumoured to have been booted off the show because he allegedly demanded more money. He also cleared these speculations and said he still had no idea why he was fired.

This then prompted him to make the decision to quit acting

I've done quite a few acting gigs and it's been a challenge to keep jumping from one job to another. I think I should be granted the privilege of getting a job and staying there for a long time - not just for me, but for the storyline and the viewers. It pains me that I have to come to this decision but I don't act for fame, I went to school for it,
