S o Paulo, October 18, 2024 - Netflix releases the official trailer and poster for Children of the Church Steps, a four-part miniseries that gives an account of the 36 hours leading up to the tragic event known as the Candel ria massacre, told from the point of view of four children.

The trailer offers a powerful glimpse into the story, combining moments of hope and hardship as the protagonists struggle to survive on the streets of Rio de Janeiro. We see friends Douglas (Samuel Silva), Sete (Patrick Congo), Jesus (Andrei Marques) and Pipoca (Wendy Queiroz) caring affectionately for each other despite the hostile environment they live in. An emotional and tense experience, the trailer transports the viewer back to the tragic events of the evening of July 23, 1993.

A Jabuti Filmes and Kromaki production, Children of the Church Steps is directed by Luis Lomenha and M rcia Faria. The series boasts a predominantly Black crew, along with survivors of the massacre who contributed to the shows development. In addition to young talents in the leading roles, the cast includes special appearances by big names like Ant nio Pitanga, P ricles, Leandro Firmino, Bruno Gagliasso, Maria Bopp and Stepan Nercessian.
