El lbum doble es el octavo trabajo de estudio de Gera MX, quien inici su carrera con No Me Mates Antes De Hoy en 2015, seguido de No Veo, No Siento y Precipicio en 2017. El tambi n fundador del sello Rich Vagos, ampli su alcance con El Vicio y la Fama, lbum que incluye colaboraciones en exploraci n a otros g neros junto Grupo Codiciado hacia los corridos, Celso Pi a, la leyenda de la cumbia regia, y Santa Fe Klan. El a o pasado lanz Los No Tan Tristes en colaboraci n con Nanpa B sico y Charles Ans, adem s de alcanzar el #4 del chart global de Spotify junto con Christian Nodal con Botella tras Botella.
El rapero nacido en Monterrey ha disparado sus streams en m s de 200% en tan solo dos a os y hoy cuenta con m s de 9.5 millones de oyentes mensuales. En su nuevo pico lbum, que gira en torno al pasado y presente de Gera MX, cuenta con colaboraciones de Snow Tha Product, C-Kan, la estrella emergente del reggaet n colombiano Blessd, y el grupo de corridos tumbados Herencia de Patrones.

Por qu lanzas dos lbumes, en lugar de una sola pieza? Decidimos hacerlo as porque creemos que representa una dualidad, el lado oscuro y el luminoso. Como el d a y la noche, el yin y el yang. Si juntas los t tulos de ambos lbumes es como decir no ten a nada, ahora tengo todo . Ah est la historia de mi vida. Por eso decid hacerlo en dos partes.
Las letras de las canciones las escrib hace cuatro o cinco a os. Era algo muy personal que ten a guardado para m . Hasta ahora, he publicado muchos lbumes y mucha m sica, pero este es m s m o.
Cu l es la tem tica principal de No Ten amos Nada, Pero ramos Felices y la de Ahora Tengo Todo Menos a Ti? Para el primero todo gira en torno a recordar que no se necesita mucho para ser feliz. El segundo se trata de todo lo que hemos pasado despu s de una d cada rapeando, de sacar el pecho, agarrar el micr fono y demostrar qui n soy en el escenario. A eso se refiere el t tulo: ahora tengo todo, menos a ti.
Por qu es el lbum m s ntimo que has hecho hasta ahora? Porque cada parte del lbum, cada canci n, cada vivencia, cada video es una pieza del rompecabezas que conforma la persona que soy. Eso compone a Gera MX en estos momentos: mi equipo, mis canciones, mis conciertos, mis seguidores, mi familia. Creo que si faltara una pieza, me descompensar a completamente. Igual pasa con la m sica, cada canci n que est en el lbum es como una parte del esqueleto, un brazo, el cerebro, el coraz n. As son las canciones de este lbum.
Cu l es la canci n que mejor te representa en este lbum? El Santo Grial para m es lo m s puro que queda de Gera. Es el espacio donde me permit rapear como a m me gusta rapear. Como cuando te dan un beat y no hay reglas, como cuando no piensas en una canci n que tenga que llevar alguna estrategia detr s.
Esta canci n simplemente es El Santo Grial : mi manera de expresar lo que siento, como fluyo, c mo veo el mundo. En la letra hablo sobre c mo pienso realmente, dejando de lado al personaje. En esa canci n escribe m s Gerardo que Gera MX.
Precipicio es una de las canciones m s representativas del lbum del mismo nombre que lanzaste en 2017. Qu le dir a el Gera MX de esa poca al de El Santo Grial ? El Gera de Precipicio al de Santo Grial le dir a que nunca se rinda y que nunca deje de rapear. Que nunca pierda su esencia y mantenga su estilo, las ganas. Tambi n que siga cuidando a su familia y se mantenga firme.
Cu les son las canciones del lbum que m s te gustan? Obviamente la de Pap y la de Diana . La primera porque es un homenaje, simboliza que recuerdo al viejo con mucho cari o. Y la segunda es un detr s de c maras de todo lo que no le toc ver a mi hermana cuando nuestro padre se fue a Estados Unidos y lo que tuvimos que hacer para salir a flote, lidiando con los problemas de un barrio peligroso.
Este lbum doble trata de los giros que ha dado tu vida. C mo est presente tu padre en esta historia? Los giros de vida en los que me acompa mi pap , pr cticamente han sido todos. Me acompa desde cachorro hasta que me convert en lobo. No compart tanto tiempo con l. Pero me llev el instructivo rudo, el que me ha hecho ser quien soy y s que me acompa a desde arriba en cada paso, en cada logro, en cada ca da, en cada noche que pasamos haciendo m sica y compartiendo con todos.
