TV 2 Norway chooses PHABRIX QxL for 25G IP UHD test and measurement posted: 08/02/2021
Full operational flexibility and advanced UHD capabilities makes QxL the ideal choice
TV 2 Norway, the country's largest commercial broadcaster, has purchased a PHABRIX QxL rasterizer to provide 25G UHD IP ST 2110 video and audio generation, analysis and monitoring at its Bergen headquarters. PHABRIX's authorized distributor Logical AS supplied the system. Svein Henning Skaga, Solutions Architect, TV 2 Norway, said, We are highly impressed with the QxL's fully-flexible architecture, covering all our UHD signal monitoring and generation requirements in both 12G-SDI and 25G IP ST 2110. We will be using the QxL within our test network, but also on UHD sports productions. With its value for money, easy to access via VNC functionality and compatibility with all the devices in our media IP network, the QxL is an excellent solution for high quality signal generation, analysis and monitoring.
The PHABRIX QxL is a flexible, compact 25GbE UHD rasterizer designed to meet the requirements of 10GbE/25GbE IP workflows suitable for professional broadcast. Out of the box, this IP enabled rasterizer supports generation and analysis of JT-NM TR 1001-1:2018, 2110-20 (video), 2110-30 (PCM audio), 2110-31 (AES audio), and 2110-40 (ANC) media flows, all with 2022-7 Seamless IP Protection Switching (SIPS), and independent PTP slaves on each media port for fully-redundant media network operation.
The QxL is one of the first devices of its type for which SDI is an option - not part of the core - making it significantly better value for HD IP broadcast ops users today. Licenses can be added to accommodate UHD over IP and HDR/WCG tools as options to meet future needs. The QxL comes as standard with a comprehensive range of tools (up to 80 channels of audio per 2110-30/31 flow), Quality Control tools, Closed Caption and Loudness monitoring.
