CABLEVISION, CHARTER, COX JOIN SCTE CORPORATE ALLIANCE PROGRAM
AUG. 14, 2014 (Exton, PA) The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced the addition of three new cable operator partners Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC), Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) and Cox Communications to the SCTE Corporate Alliance Program (CAP).
The three new members bring the number of operator partners in the program to six. The Corporate Alliance Program launched earlier this year with Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Suddenlink as members. Alpha Technologies and ARRIS Group Inc. have signed on as beta vendor partners and will assist SCTE in developing a full vendor program to launch in 2015.
The Corporate Alliance Program enables operators and vendors of all sizes jointly to address industry issues, to develop solutions and prepare for emerging technologies, and to dramatically expand access to training and education available through SCTE and its chapters.
"Specialized, top-quality training helps advance the career growth of our technical teams, drive adoption of new technical skills and deliver better customer experiences," said Pragash Pillai, senior vice president of network management and operations for Cablevision. "These benefits make our membership in the Corporate Alliance Program so important. We are proud that our engineering and operations teams are able to leverage the advantages of SCTE training, which includes access to a vast library of resources and training materials that have been created with direct input from the operator community."
"While Corporate Alliance offers a variety of benefits, two are of greatest value to Charter," said Wayne Davis, vice president, technical operations for Charter Communications. "The immediate ability to bring SCTE training and educational resources to our engineering team as a whole, as well as the ability to identify candidates for the SCTE-Georgia Tech and SCTE-Tuck leadership programs that will help us develop our next generation of management professionals."
"Aligning training with deployment is key to accelerated rollouts of new cable services," said Marci Saaijenga, vice president of technology quality and control for Cox. "The Corporate Alliance Program's unified learning environment creates a setting in which member organizations like ours can have continued access to the best new thinking and training processes from throughout the industry."
Conceived as a true strategic partnership between corporate members and SCTE, the Corporate Alliance Program includes a wide variety of opportunities for all constituencies to influence the training roadmap from the executive to the field level, and to leverage the work of other Corporate Alliance partners. The program and entry fees have been structured to ensure that members of all sizes have an opportunity to get maximum value from participation.
The program offers operators the ability to choose among a variety of benefits, including discounts on:
Individual employee memberships;
Downloads and registrations for SCTE online courses; and
Seats at SCTE Leadership Institute programs at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
