Hyphenate Partners invites South African based Producers, Writers and Directors to apply to attend a 5-day Content Creator and Director workshop for television taking place in Johannesburg.
Led by U.S. based film and television Executive Korin Huggins of Kronicle Media, the Creator workshops will delve into how to create concepts, develop them and create a package which can be pitched on the global marketplace. Participants will be guided on how to prepare a winning pitch for invited Broadcasters and Executives.
The Director workshop will focus on key aspects of Directing for television. Led by U.S. Director, Hanelle Culpepper, it will explore the thought process in preparing and pitching to Producers and Broadcasters. This workshop aims to take directing skills to the next level and give directors the tools for presenting their artistic vision and strategy for delivering the project.
From the pool of applicants, a Producer or Filmmaker with a feature project in any stage of development will be selected to accompany Producers, Adetoro Makinde and Bridget Pickering of Hyphenate Partners to attend the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. As one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, Sundance is an intimidating but necessary festival to attend for independent filmmakers. Knowing how to attend and effectively navigate the festival's opportunities and resources is a skill unto itself.
The Sundance Fellowship will be an intensive one-week exclusive film festival experience attending high-powered panels, receptions and networking opportunities with elite Hollywood executives, Talent and U.S. independent filmmakers.
Applicants must be locally established mid-level Directors and Writers/Producers with a television or feature project in any stage of development. Writers/Producers must have Written and/or Produced at least one narrative film (short or long) and minimum of two television series. Directors must have directed one narrative (short or long) and minimum three television episodes.
Priority will be given to Women and Persons of Color.
