DTS Headphone:X turns an ordinary pair of headphones into an impressive personal surround sound system on mobile devices. It accurately recreates the original studio recording, providing users with an immersive, 3D audio experience. DTS-HD technology is an advanced multi-channel audio codec that enables streaming services to deliver content to connected devices in immersive surround sound. The audio format is being used for streaming to gaming consoles, in HEVC 4K devices, and sound bars to provide an immersive listening experience.

In addition, G rard Loupias, director of business development for DTS in France, will join a panel discussion at IBC 2014 titled, Immersive Audio-from the big screen to the small screen on September 15, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. The panel, to be held in the Auditorium of the Amsterdam RAI, will discuss the latest solutions for cinema, broadcast, home cinema and mobile. It will also focus on efforts to provide meaningful audio technology interoperability and standardization for the industry.
