Media Release.
The Handmaid's Tale helps drive 9.5 million chapter views between Thursday 6 and Wednesday 12 July.
SBS On Demand has experienced its best-performing week on record, with 9.5 million chapter views on the streaming platform between Thursday 6 and Wednesday 12 July - predominantly led by the exclusive Australian premiere of acclaimed drama The Handmaid's Tale, which also led the top ten performing titles in the OzTAM Video Player Measurement for the same period.
Building on this premium programming offering, SBS On Demand today launches Crime Time, complete seasons of exclusive international dramas dropping every week throughout July, August and September.
Kicking off with acclaimed Canadian drama Cardinal, other titles in the selection include Valkyrien, Below the Surface, Farang, Fortitude, Ouro: Amazon Gold, The Frozen Dead, Berlin Station, Before We Die and The Bureau (full titles listed below).
SBS On Demand General Manager, Abigail Thomas, said: It's clear from these record figures that our diverse programming is resonating with Australians and we hope that our Crime Time drama drop can build on this success.
In a digitally-led future, we are focused on delivering content that is accessible to watch anytime across multiple devices, ensuring SBS On Demand remains Australia's most distinctive streaming service.
